Arthur signed as a trainee for Manchester United in July 1972, turning professional in July 1974. He made his first team debut on 9 October 1974 against Manchester City in the League Cup. His League debut came at Portsmouth on the 15th Oct. His F.A. Cup debut was in the 1977 cup final, against Liverpool. He replaced the injured Stewart Houston. After this he commanded a regular first team place. He was to play as full-back for United for the next ten years, playing in four cup finals and collecting three winners' medals. He left United in August 1988 and is now involved with the under 15's at Manchester United's school of excellence. |
